Howdy, I’m Parham Hausler, known to many as Paz. I’m a software engineer based in Melbourne, Australia, with a background in full-stack web development and a recent focus on backend development.

I consider myself a curious person, always eager to understand how things work and find ways to solve problems. Empathy is important to me - I strive to consider how others think and feel, whether it’s a discussion with teammates or viewing our work through customers’ eyes, considering how it affects them.

My interests extend beyond web development. I am fascinated by computing history and the lower layers of the stack, including virtualization, operating systems, networking, systems programming, and hardware. In my spare time, I am currently getting into game development and the Rust programming language.

When I don’t have computers on the brain, you can find me walking, reading, listening to podcasts, and spending time with my family.

I’ve created this site to motivate me to explore, understand, write down, and share ideas I find interesting.

I’ve got plenty of ideas I’d like to explore, some of them projects, and the hope is that writing them up as blog posts will force me to understand things on a deeper level as explaining things tends to reveal knowledge gaps and incorrect assumptions.
